Prayer for Blessings for My Husband

The everlasting God, Who created the earth for man to enjoy, blesses your marriage with your husband. He is your loving Father and knows your husband’s needs and desires. God is the ultimate source of everything. Ask, therefore, for Him to bless your husband. Ask, and believe that He will grant your request. You may take this prayer as your guide as you pray for God to bless your husband:

Dear God,

You are kind and generous. Thank You for blessing me with a good husband. Please bless him the way You have blessed David. Let him have a heart that is willing to trust and obey You. Let him please You and be a blessing to others. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

How can I pray more for my husband’s blessing?

Remember that God loves your husband. He is a child of God, and the Lord will bless him as He deems best. God will bless your husband as you earnestly pray for him. Here are ten prayer areas in which you can ask God to bless your husband:

1. Good health

The author knew the need for good health as he prayed for his friend [3 John 1:2 (NIV)]. You can pray for your husband to be physically and mentally healthy as he performs his tasks at home, at work, and wherever he goes. Ask God to bless your husband with good health. You may expectantly pray this way:

Dear Lord,

You are the source of good health. Please bless my husband’s body and mind every day. Help him live a healthy life. Make him strong enough to do his duties and responsibilities. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

2. Contentment

The world is filled with all kinds of things that may hook your husband’s interest and cause him to desire and acquire things, some of which may do good and some of which may harm his spirit. It is written in Philippians 4:11-13 (NIV) that Paul was content in any situation. Pray for your husband to be content with what he has. You may pray this short prayer:

Dear Father God,

You are the giver of good gifts to Your people. I thank You for blessing my husband. Let him be happy and content with everything that You have bestowed upon him. Let him enjoy them as You have intended. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

3. Courage

The enemy has thrown and will continue to throw fearful things at your husband. Courage is one of the great things that you can ask God to bless your husband with. The Bible tells us in Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV) that we should be courageous. Pray for your husband to be brave and enabled to face the arrows of the enemy. Ask God that He will equip your husband to be courageous enough to take on new challenges. Be hopeful as you say this prayer:

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

4. Wisdom

The wisdom of the world is incomplete and does not reflect the wisdom that comes from God. In 1 Corinthians 3:19 (NIV), the Bible teaches that the world’s wisdom is stupidity in God’s eyes. Your husband needs wisdom so that his ways will be aligned with the will of God. Pray for your husband to be wise in his speech and actions. Request God for him to be wise in making decisions. You may ask God this way:

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness

Prayer for Blessings for My Husband

Dear God,

You are wise, and You give wisdom. Please touch my husband’s mind so he can speak and do what is right. Let him know and follow Your directions. Guide him into Your truth. I pray this in Jesus, my Redeemer. Amen.

5. Faith

In this world full of uncertainty and unbelief, the enemy troubles people and attempts to weaken their faith. Your husband may face the same obstacles. His faith and trust may be under attack, so he will fear or doubt. We read in 1 Corinthians 16:13 (NIV) that we should be people of faith standing firm. Ask God for your spouse to stand firm in the faith and be confident of the Lord’s presence and protection. You may pray this way:

Dear Father God,

You are great, and nothing is impossible with You. Increase the faith of my husband. Let him walk by faith and not by sight. Make him trust You at all times. This I pray in Jesus’ most precious name. Amen.

6. Joy

God wants people to be happy. There are verses in the Bible that speak of joy. However, there are times when people can get sad over something that did or did not happen. It is written in Psalm 32:11 (NIV) that we should be happy. Pray for your spouse to be joyful even in small things and during difficult times. Here is something that you may pray to God:

Everlasting God,

You bring us joy with what You do and give us. Thank You for making us glad. I pray that You bless my husband with a joyful heart. Let him rejoice in You, even in trying times. Let him be happy because You are constantly with him. I pray this in the name of Jesus, my King. Amen.

7. Peace

There will be days when Your husband’s peace will be tested. He will be in situations where the enemy will push him to worry and be anxious. Jesus so powerfully said in John 14:27 (NIV) that He will give us His peace. Ask God for your husband to be still before Him. Pray for your spouse to fix his eyes on Jesus and be at peace with God. This is one way of praying for your husband to have peace of mind:

Dear Lord God,

Peace comes from You. I come into Your presence to ask You to give peace to my husband. Let him focus on You and not on the distractions and negativities. Please calm him with Your Spirit. Let him be a messenger of peace as well. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

8. Kindness

Most people want to be kind, and your husband may have been receiving kindness from others. However, he may encounter unkind people. In Ephesians 4:32 (NIV), the apostle Paul prompts us to be kind to others. Ask God for other people to be kind to your spouse. Petition God for your husband to be kind to others as well. You may request God for kindness by praying this way:

Dear God,

You are kind to us and even to the unkind. Thank You for being so good to us. Please bless my husband to be kind to others. Let others be kind to him as well. Let them be gentle, respectful, and courteous toward my husband. I pray this in the name of Jesus, my Savior. Amen.

9. Gratitude

God has blessed your husband abundantly. He has enriched and nourished your husband in his heart, personality, character, relationships, and even material things. The verses in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV) encourage us to be thankful in all situations and at all times. Ask God for your husband to have a thankful heart. You can pray for gratitude this way:

Dear God,

You have blessed us beyond our desires and expectations. Consecrate my husband with a grateful heart for everything that You have blessed and freely given him. Make him grateful and appreciative because of Your provision and generosity. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

10. Godliness

God has also called your husband to be godly. Like all the great men in the Bible, your husband needs to commit himself to obeying God and being righteous. Obedience is needed from your husband for him to become godly and for the plans of God for him to unfold and happen. In the book of 1 Timothy 6:6-7 (NIV), the author clearly and wisely pointed out that godliness is beneficial. Pray for your spouse to be godly and obedient. You may say this prayer for godliness:

Dear God,

You are holy and righteous. I thank You for guiding us to Your righteousness. Please cleanse my husband and make him godly. Make him consistently obey You. This I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Conclusion

While you pray for your husband to receive blessings from God, be confident that God will answer in great ways. So, have faith in the Lord and continue to trust and pray for God, the Almighty, to bless and raise up your husband.
