Prayer for a Traveling Husband

Dear Lord,

I bow before You in reverence today my Father, my safe haven, and my primary source of help whenever I am in need. As I come before You in prayer today, Lord, I want to represent a need. My husband is going to a fairly distant area right now. There is a great deal of uncertainty surrounding his circumstances, and there is never any assurance regarding the things that might take place along the way.

I ask You, my Lord, to watch over him everywhere he goes, to shield him from harm at all times, and to accompany him on every step of the journey so that he will never be in danger. Protect him from every potential threat and uncertainty that he might face along the path by enveloping him in the warmth and grace of Your loving presence. Send out Your angels to protect and shield him from all disasters and keep him from getting hurt mentally or physically.

Please ensure that he and the other drivers who are sharing the road are protected. Give him the wisdom to know how to drive and navigate with foresight, including when to move quickly, go slowly, and apply the brakes. I also pray for him to have a positive attitude and not be disturbed by anything while he is on his journey.

Please calm my apprehensions and soothe my worries. These are not pleasant feelings, and the only effect they have is to drag me down. I lay it all down before You, knowing that in Your presence there is an abundance of joy and peace that will far exceed anything that I could fathom. Teach me to have complete faith in You and to acknowledge that everything that takes place in my life and the lives of others is a direct result of the big plans You have for them. Lord, I understand that Your ways are higher than my ways, that Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts, and that the goal that You have in mind for all of Your children is for them to enjoy a full and happy life.

I have faith in Your divine intervention, Father, and I thank You for answering the prayer that I offer. I am confident that You will hear and answer any prayer that is presented to You in the name of Jesus. I am thankful for the love that has been shown to me since it is so unselfish and beautiful. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, and I give You all the glory, honor, and praise You are due. Amen.

How Can I Cover My Husband in Prayer?

Dear Lord,

My husband is a gift from You because all good things come from You. Having him as my husband is such a wonderful blessing. Thank You for giving my husband to me. You have created him from Your very image and likeness.

God, I beseech You to grant my husband the pleasure of comprehending Your wisdom and acting in accordance with Your great counsel. Assist him in differentiating between the truth that You have spoken, which gives life, and the lies that the enemy has spoken, which bring destruction. Put him with godly people who will push him to reach his full potential and help him grow spiritually.

Help him hold fast to Your promises when he is feeling pressured, upset, or anxious. I know You desire to give us a spirit of joy and peace, not dread and worry. Please give my husband Your calm, remove worry and irritation from his thoughts, and help him focus on the beautiful things that come from You.

I am pleading with You, Lord, to help keep my husband away from circumstances in which he may be tempted. Help him run away from evil and look for whatever is good and pleasing before You. God, if he ever finds himself in a situation where he is tempted, may he remain steadfast in his commitment to You and Your word and choose the path that leads to salvation. Give him Your courage and fortitude so that he can confront whatever difficulties lie ahead. I pray that You will watch over him and give him Your strength; that he will never forget that he can always come to You for help when he is in need. May he never forget that You are a gracious Father and that, regardless of how weak or lacking he may feel, the amount of love You have for him will always be sufficient; all he needs to do is call on You.

Please point my husband in the right direction in everything he undertakes. Stay with him as he makes decisions, no matter how big or small, and guide him through his life so that he can feel Your hand at work. Give him the confidence to make choices that are in line with Your will and seek You in all aspects of his life. May You provide him with the success that he seeks for his soul. You should make all Your desires come true for him and reward all of his hard work for Your greater glory. Lord, please enlighten me as to how I can give my husband the gift of strength and restoration while also supporting and encouraging him.

You have said in Your word that we should ask, and it would be given to us. I pray, Father, that You provide for all my husband’s needs. I will hold on to Your promise that You will never leave us nor forsake us, and so I pray God, to please be with my husband and provide for all that he may ever need—physical, spiritual, emotional, and financial. May Your blessings overflow and overtake him all his days. This is my prayer with thanksgiving in Jesus’ name, Amen.

How Do You Pray for Someone Far Away?

Dear Lord,

You are able to see through my situation, my yearning, and my hopelessness. It has been particularly challenging to be with someone You love close to Your heart but who is a significant distance away from You. There are times when the longing and desperation I feel for them can no longer be contained because I so desperately want to be with them.

Right now, Lord, I want You to help me and those people I care about who are far away from me and who are going through difficult times. You have complete control over every one of our lives. You are aware of everything that goes on around You at all times, right down to the tiniest details. Your timing is impeccable, and You are neither early nor late for any situation. Your pace is simply perfect. Although we are not together at the moment, I am certain that there will come a time when we will be able to be together. Please help me to have faith in Your perfect timing. I need You to teach me tolerance and patience so that I can wait for all the nice things You have to give. Please put Your hand on my heart and tell it to find peace and calm in Your presence.

You are a kind and loving God, and I want to express my gratitude to You for the blessing of being able to express our love to one another. You also know that sometimes my heart hurts from wanting to be near others—to share life’s joys and comfort each other when life is difficult, to laugh and play together, and to be able to look each other in the eyes and say, “I love You” even while we are resolving conflicts.

I am well aware that You have a plan in place for us and that this plan is better than any that I could come up with on my own. It is quite difficult for us to be apart from one another at this time; thus, we beseech You, Lord, to provide us with the strength we need to make it through the situation. Please help us appreciate each day’s significance and view each day as a fresh beginning for the opportunities that await us. When the suffering looks like it will be too much for us to take, may You fill our hearts with the compassion, understanding, and ingenuity that will keep us strong.

Please give me the knowledge I need to be a more loving person in my relationship with someone who lives a long way from me. Love entails caring for the person one loves over a long period and providing comfort to them. Love is not boastful, it is not conceited, it is not impolite, it doesn’t behave unkindly, and it does not imagine unkind thoughts. It takes pleasure not in wickedness but in telling the truth. I pray every day that this kind of love will continue to serve as the foundation of our long-distance relationship so that it can flourish. When we aren’t together, I pray that You keep a watchful eye on both of us.

While we wait for the moment when we will be together again, I pray that You will protect us and keep us safe in Your care. Assist us in finding consolation and comfort in Your love so that we may withstand the strain of being separated from one another for an extended time, for it is only in You that I can discover contentment. In the name of Jesus, this is my petition, Amen.
