5 Ways to Pray for Your Husband’s Deliverance

Although your husband may look physically well, he can be struggling spiritually. We must remember that we are not wrestling against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, and the rulers of darkness (Eph. 6:12). Through prayer, you can declare deliverance to your husband and witness God’s power working in him. Below are the five prayers for your husband’s deliverance.

1.    Deliverance from Sicknesses and Emotional Pain

Is your husband battling with physical sickness or emotional pain? If he is, then it is time to declare freedom in his life. The enemy came to steal, kill, and destroy. Some of the things he wants to steal from us are our physical health and inner joy. But the good news is that Jesus came to give us abundant life (John 10:10). Below is a prayer to declare deliverance from sicknesses and emotional pain to your spouse.

Almighty God, You are our shield and strength, especially in times of trouble. Heal my husband’s body from head to toe. In Jesus’ Name, I renounce every pain and sickness that he is experiencing! Restore the strength of his bodily functions. I also declare freedom from all the emotional pain he is going through. I rebuke depression and anxiety in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

2.    Deliverance from Unbelief

Unbelief can prevent a person from genuinely accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, missing the opportunity to be saved. On the other hand, a believer who has an unbelieving heart may not grow his relationship with the Lord. It takes faith to witness God’s power and live a surrendered life (Heb. 11:6). If your husband has an unbelieving heart, utter this prayer:

Abba Father, there’s nothing that we can hide from You. My husband’s unbelief prevents him from fully knowing and accepting You. I pray that You touch his heart today, Father. Break the callousness in his heart and let the scales fall from his eyes so that he may see the truth. I renounce his spiritual blindness and deafness in Jesus’ Name! I declare freedom from unbelief. May he fully experience Your presence, Lord. Amen.

3.    Deliverance from Addiction

Addictions have enslaved humanity for a very long time. Many medications and therapies are now available to cure different kinds of addiction. But only God can free us from the bondages and slavery of sin (Gal. 5:1). Whether your husband is experiencing addiction to drugs or other harmful substances, you should never lose hope. Claim your husband’s freedom through this prayer of deliverance:

Dear Lord, I entrust my husband to You today. Break the yoke of sin that is enslaving him. Set him free from all of his addictions. In the mighty Name of Jesus Christ, I renounce every demonic spirit that’s taking over his life! Let Your love gratify him today, filling the emptiness in his heart. I rebuke guilt and condemnation. May he accept Your love, forgiveness, and grace so that he may know that You love him with everlasting love. Amen.

4.    Deliverance from Pride

One of the things that prevent us from fully experiencing the grace of God is pride. We must remember that God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). If your spouse has a proud and calloused heart, you must ask the Lord to set him free from pride. The Lord can touch his heart, changing him from the inside out. Below is a prayer you can utter for your husband.

Heavenly Father, nothing is impossible with You. You are the only One Who can change our hearts, transforming us from the inside out. I renounce the spirit of pride from my husband’s life in Jesus’ Name! Let the power of the Holy Spirit break every wall in his heart and let Your love flow like a river. Humble him so that he may experience Your grace. Thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness, Father. Amen.

5.    Deliverance from Unforgiveness

Harboring anger and bitterness may affect our relationship with God and poison our relationships with others. In Ephesians 4:32, the Lord instructs us to forgive others as He has forgiven us. If your husband has difficulty forgiving others, he is missing a life of total freedom. Help your spouse by renouncing the spirit of unforgiveness with this prayer:

Dear God, I pray for my husband today. Help him to forgive those who have hurt him as You have forgiven our trespasses. Instead of focusing on his pain, may he see Your love and goodness in us every day. In Jesus’ Name, I renounce the spirit of unforgiveness! Set my husband free from the grudges, hatred, and bitterness he harbors, Lord. All the praises belong to You alone. Amen.
