The most important thing to pray for your non-believing husband is his salvation. Yes, you can pray for his well-being and other things, but unless he is in Christ, he is separated from God because there is a wall of hostility between him and God due to his sin nature. God may show common grace to him, but ultimately, what He has for him is wrath because of sin. So, you should pray without ceasing for the salvation of your non-believing husband. But how do you pray for his salvation?
First, you have to understand that salvation is from God and of God, meaning it is all God’s work in a person’s life. You were saved not because you decided to repent and believe but because of God’s grace working in you. His work regenerated your heart, opened your spiritually blinded eyes, and caused you to be born again. Because of that, you end up repenting and believing the person and work of Christ. That is why you can never boast about anything. If not for God, Who regenerated your heart, your heart would still be hardened, and you would never have repented. Everything is because of God’s grace and mercy in your life.
