God has laid out a number of ways for individuals to know him. There are several ways to pray to know God. Here are seven of them:

1. Pray with faith

A powerful way to pray for your husband to know God is to pray with faith. Praying with faith pleases God. Jesus often performed miracles when the recipients demonstrated faith. According to Matthew 21:22 (NIV), Jesus told the disciples that if they have faith, they will be able to receive what they have prayed for. You can pray with faith, trusting in God, because he is the Almighty God. There is nothing that will be hard for Him today. Even the most impossible thing is possible for God. Have faith that He will always do what will work in the life of your husband for him to know God. Pray with faith that your husband will grow in his reading of the word, meditation, and worship so that he may know God more deeply.

2. Pray persistently

When you pray to God with faith, you should also pray with persistence. Pray until God grants you what you are praying for. Imitate what the widow in the parable of the persistent widow did in Luke 18:1-8 (NIV). The widow was not discouraged when she did not get justice right away. She was confident and bold in asking for what she needed. It will be wise for you to do the same. She kept doing what she was doing until she received what she asked for. 3. Pray consistently

Jesus consistently made time to be with God in prayer. In the same way, pray consistently. Make prayer a habit in your life. It is written in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NIV) that the apostle Paul taught the Christians to never stop praying, so pray daily. Set aside time to commune with God. Pray without disturbance or disruption. Focus on God and his will for your husband. Ask God for your husband to know him fully. 

4. Pray with hope

It can be disheartening to pray and then wait for a long time for God to answer. It can test your patience when God is silent. The Bible says in 1 Timothy 4:10 (NIV) that we must have hope in God, who saves everyone, including your husband. While some may lose hope waiting for their prayers to be answered by God, you can pray with him, believing that God will give you an answer that you need and is best for your situation.

5. Pray with praise

God is pleased when you praise him. He is honored when you pray with praise. Jesus even displayed how to pray by first praising God. We can read this in the book of Matthew 6:9, where he said to his disciples that God is holy. It would be wise for you to do the same. In Psalm 145:1-3 (NIV), David praises God beautifully. Praise and give honor to God as you ask Him for your husband to know Him.

6. Pray with thanksgiving

God is delighted when you pray with a grateful heart. Luke 17:11-19 (NIV) tells us the story of the ten lepers who were healed by the Lord Jesus. They pleaded with Jesus to heal them, and Jesus gave them the healing for which they asked. However, only one of them gave thanks. God listens to your prayers, but he also wants you to be thankful. Thank him, for He will answer your prayers by giving your husband the heart to know Him.

7. Pray with a humble heart

God is powerful, and nothing on earth happens without his permission. He is your Lord, and you are his servant. As the word of God is living today, we acknowledge what he said in 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV), that when we draw near him with humility and pray, then he will listen to us. Therefore, pray to God with a humble heart. Humbly seek his way and pray for your husband to come to know all the truth about God.
