Prayers for My Husband’s Faith

Marriage is a lifetime commitment to your spouse to love, cherish, and honor him. And because marriage is such a special relationship created by God, it’s very important to care for and protect your marriage by continuously praying for it. Praying for your husband’s faith is one way you can help your husband grow closer to God and strengthen your marriage.

When praying for his faith, start by praying for his spiritual growth. Pray also that he will hear only the voice of God and that he may discern the right voice to listen to. Pray also for the protection and preservation of his faith. And most importantly, pray that he will seek the will of the Lord first above anything else. 

1. Prayer to Strengthen My Husband’s Faith

2. Prayer for My Husband’s Spiritual Growth

Pray that God will continue to work in your husband’s life, molding and shaping him into the man of God He intends him to be. Pray that God will never stop leading your husband and that your husband will always be open to God’s leading. Pray that he would follow Him wholeheartedly.

Lord, I pray that You will continue to work in my husband’s life. I pray that he would be open to everything You want to teach him and that he would long to grow in his faith. I pray that he would desire to please You in all areas of his life and that he would make the right choices that will please You. Amen.

The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:15 that we are to grow in our faith so that we can become like Christ. Pray that your husband will also be growing closer to Christlikeness each day.

3. Prayer for My Husband to Hear Your Voice

There are times when it’s hard for us to hear God’s voice. Pray that your husband would have ears to hear what God is saying to him. Pray that he would be quick to obey when God speaks to him as well.

Dear God, I pray that my husband would have ears to hear what You are saying to him. I know that sometimes it’s hard for him to quiet his mind and really listen to Your voice, but I pray that he would make an effort to do so. I know that when he starts to hear and feel your presence in his life, his faith will be strengthened, and he will be a more devoted and committed follower of You. Amen.

The Bible tells us in Isaiah 30:21 that whether we turn to our right or our left, we will hear the voice of God behind us telling us the right way to walk. Pray that your husband will always be willing to follow God’s voice, no matter where it leads.

4. Prayer for My Husband’s Discernment

There are so many voices trying to speak into our lives these days. Pray that your husband would have the discernment to know which voices to listen to and which to ignore. Pray that he would be strong in his faith and not be swayed easily by other people’s opinions.

The Bible tells us in 1 John 4:1 that we are to test the spirits to see whether they are from God because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Pray that your husband would be able to test the spirits and would only listen to those that are from God.

5. Prayer for the Protection of My Husband’s Faith

Many dangers and temptations in the world can threaten our faith. Pray that God would protect your husband’s faith from those dangers and temptations that will only harm him. Pray that he would be full of courage in his faith so he would not easily give in to any temptations he is facing.

Dear God, I come to you today praying for protection for my husband’s faith. There are many dangers and temptations that can threaten our faith, but I know that You are stronger than all. I pray my husband will be strong in his faith and not give in to temptation. I know that with Your help, he can overcome anything. Amen.

The Bible reminds us in 1 Peter 5:8 to be alert because the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Pray that your husband would be alert and not succumb to the devil’s schemes. 

6. Prayer for My Husband to Seek God First

It can be easy to get caught up in the busyness of life and forget about God. Pray that your husband would always seek God first and would not let other things crowd Him out.

Dear Lord, I pray that my husband will always seek You first in everything he does. I know there are so many demands on his time, but I pray that he would not let other things crowd You out. I pray that he would make time for prayer and Bible reading every day. Amen.

The Bible tells us in Psalm 105:4 to seek God and His strength. Pray that in every day of your husband’s life, he would desire to seek the Lord and find strength in Him alone.

Prayers for My Husband’s Faith for Healing

It says in 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 (NIV) that if one part of the body suffers, every part suffers as well. 

Praying for our husband’s faith in healing can be a very difficult thing to do. We may not know what and how to pray, or sometimes we may feel like we are not doing it the right way. But remember that God hears our prayers and knows our hearts. (Psalm 34:15) He knows what we need even before we ask.

My prayer is for him to have faith in You and believe that You can heal him. I ask for the strength coming from You, Oh Lord, to help him through this difficult situation. Amen.

If your husband is struggling with unbelief and distrust of the Lord, pray that he would be open to seeing how God has helped him before in so many ways in his life and that he would trust and believe that God can heal him more today (Mark 9:24).

One of the most powerful tools that any Christian can use in their life is prayer. Trust that it can strengthen and help your husband to remain strong when he is faced with adverse conditions or difficult circumstances. You can use prayer to ask God for divine intervention so that your husband’s faith would remain steadfast even during tough times (2 Timothy 4:7).

Dear Lord, I come to You today asking that You help my husband keep his faith today even if things are tough. I can feel and see that he is going through a difficult time at the moment, but I pray that he will not lose sight of what You have done for him in the past and continue to do. I pray that he would remember how You have healed him from other illnesses in the past and that he would trust that only You can do it again. I pray for strength for him to keep his faith even when life is difficult. Amen.

Although praying for our husband’s faith is not an easy thing to do, keep in mind that it is our responsibility to him. It is one thing that we should never forget in our prayers.
