Prayer For Husband’s Family

This is Prayer For Husband’s Family.

Lord, I thank You for my husband’s family today.  You chose this family for him because You knew him and sanctified him to serve You even before he was formed in his mother’s belly (Jeremiah 1:5).  Therefore, Lord, I thank You for my husband’s family, for they laid the foundation for him to become the man he is today.

I thank You for my husband’s parents, Lord.  I thank You that they raised my husband to honor the sanctity of marriage (Exodus 20:14), and that they released him so that he and I could become one in the covenant of marriage (Ephesians 5:31).  Remind my husband to always respect his father and mother, Lord, as You have commanded (Leviticus 19:3); for You have promised my husband a long and prosperous life if he honors his parents (Deuteronomy 5:16).  Let my husband never be among those who curse their parents; rather let him always bless his father and his mother (Proverbs 30:11).  Even when he becomes frustrated or angry with his parents, Lord, keep his lips from cursing them; for in the cursing of his parents, my husband speaks death over himself (Exodus 21:17).  Therefore, Lord, I ask that You would bless my husband’s parents, that You would bless my husband’s relationship with his parents, and that his parents would be proud to call him their son (Proverbs 23:25).

I also pray, Lord, for the rest of my husband’s family.  I pray not only for those family members who are saved, but also for those family members who do not know You.  For though You call many unto Yourself, few respond and are chosen (Matthew 22:14), which often causes those serving You to be a minority in their own family (Jeremiah 3:14).  You forewarned us that this would cause division in families, and that family members would turn against each other, with two against three and three against two, because of Your gospel of peace (Luke 12:51-53).  However, Lord, we know that a house divided, a family divided, cannot stand (Matthew 12:25); therefore, I pray that You would raise up my husband as a peacemaker in his family (Matthew 5:9).

Help my husband to live his life as a witness and an example of You to his unsaved family members in word, in charity, in spirit, in faith, and in purity (1 Timothy 4:12).  Give my husband boldness in sharing his personal testimony with his family (Psalm 119:46); for if he hides the truth of what You have done in his life, it is hid from his family members who are lost (2 Corinthians 4:3).  Therefore, Lord, give my husband boldness to declare Your name and praise You in the midst of his family (Psalm 22:22).  Make my husband fearless in making known Your works to his siblings, cousins, aunts, and uncles (1 Chronicles 16:8).  Strengthen my husband to fight the good fight of faith in front of his family, laying hold on eternal life, and professing his testimony in You before many witnesses (1 Timothy 6:12).  And, as my husband shares with his family, Lord, open their hearts, that many more in his family will believe because of what they hear (John 4:41).

These things I pray for my husband’s family, in the name of Jesus.  Amen.
