Prayer for a Son Who Is a Husband and Father

A mother’s heart always wishes the best for her son. He used to be your baby, but now he is a full-grown man building his own family. Your son may have his own home now, but he always needs your prayers to guide him in all his ways. As he faces new challenges, intercede for him. Here is a Prayer for a Son Who Is a Husband and Father:

Abba Father, I pray for my son. As a husband, teach him to love his wife as You love Your church. As a father, give him wisdom for guiding his children. Provide him strength as he continuously fights for his family. Shower him with Your love and remind him of Your faithfulness. Amen.

What is a good scripture for my son?

The greatest gift you can give your son is the Lord Jesus Christ. You may be away from him, but as long as God is in his life, he will always be okay. The Bible reminds us how much God loves and instructs us and why we need to trust Him. Here are good scriptures that you can share with your son:

God is enough (Heb. 13:5)

As your son enters fatherhood, he will soon be responsible for providing for his family. The Bible instructs us to work (Prov. 12:11), but we should have the right motivation. As Hebrews 13:5 says, we must keep our lives free from the love of money. We may experience financial setbacks, but we must trust the Lord instead of money.

Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense.

Prayer for a Son Who Is a Husband and Father

The verse promises us that the Lord will never leave or forsake us. Remind your son during trials that the Lord is with him. Instead of relying on what money can do, he must put his faith in the Lord, Who will stay with him forever.

All things work together for good to those who love God (Rom. 8:28)

Fathers are the heads of their families, and when problems arise, they suffer silently. Unfortunately, some of them lose their hope and strength. Since we are living in a fallen world, our problems are endless. But as children of God, our sufferings are like puzzle pieces. One day, we will see these hardships as part of a great masterpiece God has prepared for us.

One way to survive trials is to hold on to God’s goodness and promises. You may not always be there to comfort your son, but if you have taught him to trust God, he will find comfort in His presence.

The Lord opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble (1 Peter 5:5-7)

It is tempting to boast, especially amid promotion, opportunities, and achievement. But if your son wants to have the favor of God in his life, he must humble himself. Explain why respecting his parents, bosses, and other authorities in his life is vital. You must also warn him about the danger of becoming proud.

As your son embraces a life of humility, he will also be favorable in the sight of men. Even in his weaknesses, he will be entrusted with greater things. But most important of all, his heart will remain at rest and at peace with God.

It is by grace we are saved and not by our works (Eph. 2:8)

The enemy will try to condemn your son every time he fails, affecting his relationship with the Lord. But remind him that God saved us because of His grace and not our performance. He loves us no matter what happens. It is also essential to treat your son with grace. Remind him of your love even if he has made mistakes.

By sharing God’s grace, your son will treat his wife and children the same way the Father in heaven treats him. Your son may not build a perfect family, but it is a family-centered on God’s love and grace.

What can I pray over my son?

Unfortunately, as our sons grow older, they will be more hesitant to share their problems and pain. But even though we don’t know what is happening, the Lord knows what is inside their hearts. Praying for your son will help him have strength and hope even during trials and setbacks.

Prayer for protection

As mothers, the most important thing for us is the life of our sons. We don’t know what may happen in the future, but we must trust the Lord that He will keep our sons safe. There may be storms, earthquakes, and crimes, but God is our refuge and protection. Indeed, He will keep our loved ones under His wings (Ps. 91:4). Here is a prayer for the protection of your son:

Prayer for a Son Who Is a Husband and Father

Father in heaven, thank You for keeping my son safe from when he was a child until now. Father, I pray that You’ll protect him wherever he goes. Cover him with the Blood of Jesus. Also, keep his family safe in Your arms, Lord. I renounce all the enemy’s evil plans against them, in Jesus’ Name! I praise You for Your faithfulness. Amen.

Prayer for good health

Staying in good health is a blessing that God gives us every day. The Lord wants us to be strong as we get older. As you go to your prayer closet, don’t forget to declare good health to the people you love, especially your son. If he is sick, claim God’s healing in his body. Below is a prayer for good health for your son:

Almighty God, I pray for good health for my son. Keep his body strong every day of his life. If he feels unwell now, I rebuke sicknesses in his life, in Jesus’ Name! By Your stripes, we are healed (Is. 53:5). Besides his body, let there be strength in my son’s mind, soul, and spirit. I always declare good health to his wife and children. For this, I pray, Amen.

Prayer for wisdom

As a father and a husband, your son’s decisions will affect his family. Ask the Lord to give your son wisdom. The wisdom that comes from above is pure, merciful, sincere, and peace-loving (James 3:17). He must not rely on the knowledge that the world offers since it is jealous and selfish. By receiving the wisdom from God, your son will be able to do what is pleasing to the Lord:

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

Prayer for a Son Who Is a Husband and Father

Dear Lord, grant my son the wisdom that comes from You so he may know what to do during the challenging times of his life. Help him to distinguish what is from You and what is from the enemy. His obedience to your instruction will bring more peace and love to his family. I rebuke the confusion, double-mindedness, and dullness in his life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Prayer for God’s favor

Seeing our sons turn out the way God wants them to become brings joy and contentment to our hearts. However, this would not be possible without God’s favor. All good things come from the Lord; only He can genuinely uplift one’s life. Declare favor to your son’s family, career, and plans through this prayer:

Heavenly Father, I ask a favor for my son’s life. Let him be like a tree planted on the streams of water that yields fruit in the season (Ps. 1:3). Let there be favor on his family, career, and plans. Make him a blessing to others so that he may give glory and honor to Your Name. Thank You for Your everlasting love for my son. Amen.

Conclusion

As long as God is with your son, he will bring delight to his wife and his children. You may not be in the same home with your son, but you can still pray for him. Trust the Lord that He will guide your son all the days of his life. Rest in God’s peace, knowing that they are safe and protected in God’s hands.
