Prayer For My Soldier Husband

Having your husband work in the service of his country is a blessing from God. Being a soldier is not an easy job. Your husband needs your support to be able to work and serve the country well. 2. Wisdom

Your husband needs the wisdom that God gives. Once God gives him wisdom, he will be guided by the Holy Spirit into all truth and goodness and will be shown the right path. In (If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5 (NIV), the Bible teaches us to ask for wisdom from God. Ask God to bestow wisdom upon your spouse. Pray for your husband to have discernment so that he can make the right choices and decisions. 3. Protection

There will be times when your husband’s job will put him in tough situations or put him in danger. Pray for him to be protected by the almighty God. Ask God to cover and shield your husband from all harm. Ask God to protect your husband from attacks of the enemy.

4. Strength

Your husband’s job can physically weaken and drain him. His work may also negatively affect his emotions. In (God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 (NIV), the psalmist shares that the Lord is our strength. Pray for your spouse to be strong. Ask God for a strong and enduring faith. Ask God to grant your husband strength for each assignment he will be doing. Ask God for your husband not to be stressed and to overcome any stress he is currently facing.

5. Joy

Being away from you and your family may cause your husband to be unhappy. He may lose his source of joy when disappointments happen at work. We read in (Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound. Psalm 4:7 (NIV) that God gives us much joy within. Pray for your spouse to find joy in God, not in circumstances alone. Ask God to bless your husband with a glad heart so that he can still be joyful, despite disappointments or frustrations. Request God to refresh the mind of your husband so he can think of ways to be joyful.

6. Obedience

The work of your husband requires obedience to those above him. His job also demands obedience to the government. In Joshua 1:8 (NIV), God instructs Joshua on how to obey the Scriptures. Pray for your spouse to obey the law. Ask God to give your husband an obedient and yielding heart. Ask God for your husband to respect authority and do what is legal and lawful.

7. Trust

Trust in God is essential for your husband to be a good soldier and serve as he should. When he trusts in the Lord, God will always lead him on the right road. Psalm 37:4-5 (NIV) tells us to put our trust in God because he will act. Pray for your spouse to trust God, no matter what situation he finds himself in. Ask God to make your husband fully trust in the Lord, especially when he is confused, in doubt, or in need of direction.

8. Good relationships

Relationships are essential in any soldier’s life. They make your husband feel nourished and enriched. Pray for him to be surrounded by good-natured and positive coworkers and friends. Ask God to bless your husband so that he can establish and maintain good relationships at work and with his family. Jesus commanded his disciples to love the way he does in (“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. John 13:34 (NIV). Ask for your spouse to love, be kind, and care for the people whom God has given him.

9. Courage

Being a soldier demands courage. Your husband needs to be brave while performing his challenging tasks. In Deuteronomy 31:7-8 (NIV), Moses, when he was nearing his death, emboldened Joshua with his words. Pray for your husband to be ready and bold. Ask God for your spouse to be empowered to accomplish what is ordered for him to do. Request in your prayer that your husband remember that God will always provide him with enough courage and strength to win his battles.

10. Growth and maturity

God created your husband to be more than just good. He assigned your spouse to become a better soldier as well. In the book of (Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:4 (NIV), the Bible instructs us to persevere so that we can be mature and reach completeness. Pray for your spouse to grow with perseverance in his job. Ask God to bless your husband with a mind that welcomes corrections and new lessons that help him grow. Request that God bestows on your spouse a humble heart that seeks and yearns for learning and will only become more mature in time.
