Praying for your husband and marriage is vital if you want to make the relationship with your spouse and family prosper in Christ. The more you pray for your husband and marriage, the more connected you are to God and the easier it is for Him to move freely in such areas of your life. We know that only with God at the center will any relationship last and prosper; after all, He is the God of fellowship and relationship in the truest form of love. When couples pray together and pray for each other, their marriage becomes a powerhouse of God, where the kingdom of darkness is shut, and the Kingdom of God is advanced.
How can you pray for your husband and marriage? You can pray in this manner:

How do you pray for a struggling marriage?
Marriage is not a journey without struggle. Like in any relationship, be it in friendship, your family, the workplace, church, or ministry, struggles and challenges are inevitable. Jesus said in John 16:33 that in this world, we would have trouble, but we don’t have to be afraid, because He has already overcome this world’s challenges, struggles, and troubles. We must always keep our eyes on Him, so that we can overcome those trials, just like He did.
Especially in marriage, struggles and challenges are very real. After all, marriage is not all sunshine and flowers, but also a battleground for spiritual warfare. The enemy hates a Christ-centered marriage, as it causes great damage to his kingdom of darkness. When you pray for your marriage, your spouse and your family, and pray together as a couple, the enemy will look for ways to destroy that harmony. His purpose is to steal, kill, and destroy families and marriages (see John 10:10). However, if your marriage, spouse, and children are covered in prayer, Satan can’t do anything to your family.
If your marriage is struggling right now, fear not, as God will never leave you. He is with you and will help you get through this season. It is important to fix your mind on His Word, His promises, and God’s faithfulness as you go through difficulties, as God’s Word will keep you safe and give you peace of mind and heart as you hope and trust in the Lord. You can pray and declare Isaiah 43:2-3 for your marriage:
Dear God, thank You for being with us as my marriage passes through dynamic waters. The rivers of trials and problems will not sweep over my husband and I. As we walk through the fire, we will not be burned, nor will the flames of struggle set us ablaze, because You are our Lord and Savior in Christ Jesus. I am confident that my husband and I will get through this as we fix our eyes on You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

How to Pray for Your Husband and Marriage
When your marriage is struggling, the best prayers to declare are the promises of God that are written in His Word. God’s Word is powerful and effective because His Word doesn’t return to Him void. When you speak it, His Word always bears fruit. Declare His promises over your husband and over your marriage, then patiently wait for the Lord and see things come to pass.
The Lord is always faithful in fulfilling what He promised. You simply need to stay calm in the midst of struggles, keep your peace through Christ Jesus, and let the Word of God dwell richly in your heart and mind. That way, the enemy has no room for its lies and oppressions. Continue covering your husband in prayer, and don’t give up praying for him and for your marriage. The Holy Spirit is your prayer partner, and He will never leave you.
What does God say about Marital problems?
As discussed earlier, problems or troubles are sure to come up, whether in marriage, family relationships, your ministry, or friendships. Problems occurring in marriage are not a new thing. It is a common challenge for couples to overcome and face together in unity and teamwork. There are different levels of marital problems, such as small arguments and disagreements about certain things. In contrast, bigger problems tend to impact marriage much more, such as being married to a non-Christian husband whose ways and mindsets are unbiblical, having an abusive husband, or an unfaithful husband who is unfaithful.
Smaller problems can be resolved easily as you both pray and allow God and His Word to direct the course of your lives and decision-making, while bigger problems may require help from other reliable, trustworthy, and Spirit-filled people who can give you wisdom, perspective, and insight on how to handle major marital problems. For instance, if your husband is physically abusing you, it is important to seek help or reach out to a trusted person who knows the situation. You don’t have to keep these kinds of situations to yourself. This is not God’s will for marriage, as physical violence is never a part of God’s love in marriage. You can check out this article, “How to Pray for an Abusive Husband,” for further knowledge and wisdom about this challenging situation.
Moreover, if your husband is a non-Christian, you may also want to let your pastor or your Church help you in praying for his salvation. We know that nothing is impossible with God when it comes to winning the hearts of men. After all, He is our Maker, and He knows each person’s heart, including your husband. Meanwhile, you must simply continue to live a godly life that sanctifies your husband. Continue to be loving and respectful to Him so that your godly life will impact his outlook on the identity of Christ (see 1 Corinthians 7:14). No matter what you may be going through in your marriage, as you continuously pray for your husband and marriage with the goal to seek God first, seek His guidance and rely on His Word, the Holy Spirit will always be there to help you in times of need. God is your ever-present bastion of help in times of trouble, and He will never fail you. Psalm 46:1 says, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
