However, things aren’t going to be easy, for the conversation can lead to feelings of uncertainty and concern about whether the issues in your marriage can truly be resolved. Whether those issues you’re dealing with are communication problems or emotional issues such as pride or unfaithfulness, in the end, it will all depend on both of you. Father, we desperately need Your help. Our marriage is falling apart, and I do not know what to do. I ask for Your guidance and wisdom on how I can resolve our problems. Renew both our hearts, O Lord, that we may be willing to change in order to fix our marriage. Amen.

Prayer to save the marriage from divorce

Our greatest fear is that one day our marriage may falter, and this will lead to divorce. This is such a scary thing as it can lead to your family becoming completely broken. The ones who will be most greatly affected by it are not you and your husband but your children, as they will have a hard time coping with the idea of what could possibly happen to their family. You should always remember that when you and your husband decided to tie the knot, you were committed to one another. Based on  (Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. Hebrews 13:4), honor your marriage and your vows. Divorce is not necessarily the answer to your problems.

“Father, I and my husband don’t wish to destroy our relationship or break the promises we made to each other on our marriage day. However, we do not know what to do anymore. Our hearts right now are so broken that we are having a hard time facing each other. But we know, O Lord, that Your desire is for us to fix our broken hearts for one another. Father, guide us to find our way back to each other. Rekindle our love for each other once again so that we don’t ever hear the word “divorce” or have it exist in our lives. Divorce is not what we want. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Prayer for a changed heart

Your marriage will work only if both of you have the heart to accept and fix the problems. Once you recognize those issues, the most important thing is that both of you have to agree to accept the changes that need to be made. Change does not happen in the blink of an eye—it takes time and patience. As long as one has the willingness to change, your marriage can be fixed and restored. So, be patient and accept the changes that need to be addressed. Sooner or later, you’ll realize that the problems you thought were impossible to address will soon be history and all in the past. Trust in the Lord your God, for He will make changes in your hearts in order for you to live, based on (And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live. Deuteronomy 30:6).

“Father, open both my husband’s heart and mine. May we have willing hearts to listen to Your instructions on how we can resolve our marriage. Father, give both of us the patience to accept the problem within us. May we learn to accept our mistakes and apologize to one another. Father, forgive us for our sins. We have let the enemy control us, causing us to live in hatred and anger and our marriage to crumble. Father, renew our hearts, O Lord, to be more like Yours—full of love, compassion, and patience. Father, I entrust everything to You. For You alone is nothing impossible. Amen.”

Prayer for obstacles to be removed

Once you have distinguished what has caused the turmoil in your marriage, you must take action and remove all obstacles. Getting rid of them ensures they will not bring you any more problems in the near future. “Father, remove all negative feelings in my heart. The doubt and anxiety I feel do not belong to You. Father, guide me in how I can face all the obstacles coming my way. Help me encourage my husband not to be led astray by temptations that can destroy our marriage. Father, whatever obstacles come our way, may You strengthen both my heart and my husband’s heart so we are not led astray. Remind us of our love for You so we may rekindle our spark for each other. Father, I lift up all problems in our marriage to You, for I trust You to know the solution to all of them. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Prayer for the words to speak

The words that come out of our mouths can be the reason our marriages are breaking up, especially if our negative emotions initiated these words. This causes all the words coming out to be filled with hatred and anger. Could this lead your spouse to think you do not love him anymore? A single word can mean a lot of things. (Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles. Proverbs 21:23)  mentions that we should hold ourselves from speaking ill to avoid any sort of trouble. That is why it is important during stressful moments that we should always calm down first and talk to God, who will guide us on what words should come out of our mouths (Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. “Father, let the words from our mouths and in our hearts always be pleasing in Your sight, O Lord. Please strengthen us as we redeem ourselves before You. Father, help us always be mindful of the words we speak. May I learn to control my temper and not let my emotions quickly take full control over my mouth. Father, heal the wounds in both of our hearts. I have hurt my husband with my words, and I pray for Your forgiveness and his. May he learn to forgive me and continue to love me. This I pray, Amen.”

Prayer for faith

Having faith in one another keeps your marriage together with trust that despite the problems you are facing, everything will be fine, and your relationship will be restored. Instead of seeking revenge, we should put our trust in God, for Whom nothing is impossible (Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Romans 12:19). We should not let our impulses lead us to seek revenge but entrust everything to God instead. Trust God so He will work on your husband’s heart; allow Him to fight for you. And always remember, nothing is impossible with Christ on our side, based on Matthew 17:20.

“Father, restore Your peace within me. I place all my faith in You. You strengthen me. I know that with You, I can overcome anything. Father, I lift up my husband to You. May You help him overcome the problems we are facing now. I pray that he’ll trust in You more and see that You have more plans for us—that Your plans for our marriage are to prosper it and not break it apart and for us to be a complete family that teaches our children Your ways. And one of those ways is by putting our trust in You; to not seek revenge but trust in You instead to do wonders and miracles in their lives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Prayer for the truth

For marriage to work, the truth must always prevail. Being honest with one another will restore your marriage from all the conflict as you find ways to resolve each problem, one at a time. Remember what the Bible says, “the truth will set you free” (And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32). It is important for us to always speak the truth, uphold the truth, hear the truth, and believe in the truth.

“Father, help my husband always speak the truth to me. May I be a good listener and accept the truth even when it hurts. Father, as we speak honestly to each other, may You strengthen our hearts so they do not break apart. Instead, heal all the wounds in our hearts once we learn of the truth. As we heal, may we learn to forget all our troubles, move on, work hard, and seek a better future. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
