Prayers For My Husband To Come Back To Me

God designed marriage to last for a lifetime, so it causes a great deal of pain for married couples to separate. If your husband leaves you, remember that God will never abandon you (Deut. 31:8). You should also not lose hope, as the Lord can restore your marriage. Surrender your pain to Him and let Him help you with this prayer:

Abba Father, You know the pain I am going through today. Restore my marriage and my family, Father. Touch my husband’s heart so that he may return to me. Renew the love he once had for our family and me. Be my Rock and my Fortress, Father. For this, I pray. Amen.

Forcing your spouse to return to you may only hurt you more. Instead of fighting with your own strength, surrender the battle to God. He will fight for you (Exod. 14:14). As humans, we don’t have the power to change people’s hearts. Only God can replace our hearts of stone with flesh (I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. Ezek. 36:26). The same is true with your spouse. Your word may convince him, but only the Lord can transform him from the inside out. 2. Pray for restoration

God has the power to restore every broken relationship, so you should never lose hope in your marriage. The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came so that we can have an abundant life (The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10). Although the situation may look like a dead-end, nothing is impossible with God. Below is a prayer you can utter:

Dear Lord, restore what the enemy has stolen in my marriage. Let the love and intimacy between my husband and me return. Bring back the joy and the laughter we used to have. 3. Pray for healing

Separation causes pain for both husband and wife. Only God can heal the scars brought about by hurtful and harsh words. If your spouse has betrayed you, God could remove the bitterness that you still harbor. Remember that by the stripes of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are healed (Is. 53:5). Here is how you can declare healing:

Almighty God, grant healing for my husband and me. Remove the grudges in our hearts caused by our hurtful words and deeds. Let Your love comfort us from the pain we are going through today. Teach us to surrender all our pain at Your feet in order to receive healing. All the glory and honor belong to You alone. Amen.

4. Pray for forgiveness

Forgiveness is the first step to restoration. You and your husband may still be holding grudges against each other, but we should forgive as God forgave us (Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.Eph. 4:32). Holding on to our bitterness will postpone our healing. It may be difficult, but it’s not impossible. With God’s help, there can be forgiveness between you and your husband. Declare forgiveness through this prayer:

Dear God, help my husband, and I forgive each other. Teach us to let go of the pain and overlook each other’s trespasses. If I have said anything to hurt him, touch his heart so that he may forgive me. I rebuke unforgiveness, anger, and hatred, in Jesus’ name! Let there be reconciliation between us, Lord. Amen. 

5. Pray against adultery

God instructs married couples to make the bed undefiled (Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. Heb. 13:4). If your husband left you for another woman, start waging spiritual warfare. It is a battle that you shouldn’t fight by yourself. Remember that God is always on your side. Below is a prayer that can help you renounce adultery:

Almighty God, You are on the side of the oppressed and can hear the cry of my heart calling for justice. Set my husband free from adultery and lust, Lord. Open his eyes so that he may see the truth. Deliver him from his perverse thoughts and desires. Touch his heart and lead him to godly repentance, Lord. For this, I pray. Amen. 

6. Pray against pride

Pride can keep your husband from coming back to you. He will harden his heart towards you unless he accepts that he has also made mistakes. However, the Lord has a good way of dealing with proud people. Remember that He opposes the proud (Jam. 4:6). Renounce the spirit of pride in your husband through this prayer:

Father in heaven, You are my only Hope. Get rid of my husband’s pride so that our marriage can be restored. Touch his heart and let Your love overflow in Him. Let him surrender in your presence, acknowledging Your sovereignty. Set him free from self-righteousness and arrogance, Father. Grant him a humble heart that submits to You. Thank you for being so kind, Father. Amen.

7. Pray against selfishness

Seeking our own good over others is a sign of selfishness (1 Cor. 10:24). It can harm your marriage by causing pain to your partner. Instead of having compassion, we often focus more on things that will satisfy our desires. If your partner leaves you because of selfishness, you can turn to the Lord for help. Below is a prayer you can declare for your husband:

Heavenly Father, I pray for my husband today. Reveal to him how You have loved us selflessly. You have given us Your Son so that we may have eternal life. May he encounter our Lord Jesus Christ and understand all his sacrifices. Teach him to love me as You have loved the church. Thank You for everything, Father. Amen.

As long as God is on your side, restoring your marriage is not impossible (Luke 1:37). All you need to do is pray and let the hand of God move in your situation.
