How to Pray for My Husband’s Mind

Our mind is a powerful tool in the advancement of God’s Kingdom. For God’s will to be done here on earth, He must have access to our minds and hearts as we fill them with the Word of God and align our thoughts with His ways, plans and principles. Our mind contains ideas, dreams, visions, stored knowledge, comprehension, unique perspectives, reasoning, and creativity. It is powerful and dangerous at the same time, depending on what we choose to feed our minds with. Proverbs 4:23 says that the content of our mind and heart shapes the way we live; that’s why we must guard it.

Heavenly Father, I lift my husband’s mind up to You. Thank You for ensuring that he chooses to fill his mind with heavenly things. He fixes his eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of his faith, and he loves to gaze at the beauty of the Lord. His mind is full of life-giving words, ideas, and creativity, all of which powerfully influence me and my children, along with those he encounters. I bless my husband’s mind with Christlikeness, the fruit of the Spirit, and God’s Word every day, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Praying for your husband’s mind is a powerful thing, as God designed husbands to be the head and leader of the family. When a husband’s thoughts are aligned with God’s Word, he can powerfully impact your marriage, children, and family, as well as your community and connections. When God is able to move in your husband’s mind freely, he is able to do God’s will, which impacts not just his life, but also the lives of those around him.

You can also pray and declare Scriptures about God’s will for your husband’s mind, as it is a powerful and effective prayer. For instance, Philippians 4:8 says, Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.  You can declare this Scripture for your husband’s mind in this way:

In Jesus’ name, my husband thinks about things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, admirable, and praiseworthy. He has the mind of Christ, and the victory of Christ reigns in his mind. Amen.

If you do this every day, you will see great changes in your married life.

As you passionately pray for your husband’s mind, may God show you His faithfulness and goodness in fulfilling His promises for your life, husband, marriage and family, in Jesus’ name.
