Prayer for Hard Working Husband

Men are natural providers of the home. It’s their natural God-given role to work for their family and provide for their needs. If you have a husband who works hard for your family, know that you are a blessed woman. Your man truly loves you and your family, as he cares enough to provide for your daily needs, wants, and even desires. It is something to be appreciated, acknowledged, and grateful to God for. A prayer for a hardworking husband:

Heavenly Father, thank You and praise Your holy name for giving me such a wonderful, hardworking husband. You have blessed his hand with skills and talents and caused favors and blessings to come upon his life. Our family is blessed by the works of his hands. Thank You for making him prosperous not just materially but also in his physical health and spiritual life. I pray that You continuously guide him, strengthen him, and bless him to bless others. May the work of his hand glorify You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

God wants every role in the family to be fulfilled. It is His way of blessing our families when fathers provide for their family and love their wives as Christ loved the church (see Ephesians 5:25-30), mothers take care of the children and honor and submit to their husbands (see Ephesians 5:22-23), and children love and obey their parents (see Colossians 3:20 and Ephesians 6:1).

What do I do if my husband is a workaholic?

While it is the husband’s natural role to work and provide for their families, there are some cases of extreme working. Anything we do that can be considered too much is not part of God’s will. For instance, while eating is necessary for the nourishment of our bodies, eating too much every day is no longer healthy and beneficial. The same thing applies to work. Too much work is not just dangerous to one’s health but even to your relationships with your loved ones, and most of all, to God. 

If your husband is a workaholic, you can gently remind him to take care of his health, balance his time with family and the Lord, and not overwork because of money; after all, we have Heavenly Father who always watches over His children. But before doing so, honor him and appreciate him first. Thank his hardworking trait, which is a blessing. Then you can give your reminders so he will listen to you and not feel dishonored or get the wrong message.

Sometimes it is good to remind each other as a couple and be accountable for one another’s actions. This keeps the enemy’s schemes away, as you both agree to look out for each other. However, sometimes it is easier said than done. But as long as you have the Lord, as long as He is at the center of Your marriage, you are in good hands. As long as the Word of God continues to dwell richly in your mind and heart, the Holy Spirit is always there to speak, convict, and remind you individually.

How do I pray to God if my husband has no time for his family because of work?

It can be challenging when there is no sense of balance between time for work, time for family and loved ones, time for your spouse, and time for yourself and God. Everything can get out of place when life has no sense of balance. As Jesus said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). If God isn’t the priority in our hearts, everything else falls out of place.

If your husband has no time for your family because of work and is in a state of disorder in his life, you can pray to him in this manner:

Heavenly Father, I lift to you, my husband. Thank You for his life and for the strength You have blessed him with so he can work and provide for his family. I know that You are still number one in his heart and that You are always speaking to Him. Thank You for reminding him about Your Word through the Holy Spirit. I declare order and a sense of balance in his time with work, family, and his time with You most of all in Jesus’ name. Amen.

As you pray for your husband, you can gently talk to him and set up a time where you can both pray together and remind him about balancing his time with work and family. As mentioned earlier, honor and appreciate him first for the things he has done for your family. Then you can share your concerns about his time with the family.

Allow the Holy Spirit to move through and guide you in doing this. Pray for your husband and wait for God’s perfect timing as you speak with him in love and full of the Holy Spirit.

Continuously bless your husband’s diligence for work, keep showing your appreciation for him, and pray for him every day. Speak blessing and keep declaring good things about your husband, as He is a great gift from above.
