“Father, continue to guide my husband in finding out who he truly is and his purpose in life. Remind him all the time that he is created in Your image so that he will not find himself momentarily in the pleasures of this world. Prayer for Husband’s Self-Esteem

Knowing our purpose in life and what God has assigned us to be during our time in this world will help us fully understand the meaning of life—why we were blessed to be in this world. Our self-esteem defines who we are as a person, and this is important for having a good self-image.

How Should I Pray for a Husband with Low Self-Esteem?

If your husband has low self-esteem, it could mean his day-to-day life might be challenging. He will find it hard to get on with daily tasks, as he believes he is not good enough nor is he capable of achieving anything.

As your husband’s spouse, it is your responsibility to encourage him to be confident in who he is and to remind him that God has given him the life he has for a purpose. His life has meaning, and God is ready to talk to him and guide him in finding out who he must be and what he must do in this world.

Based on [1 Corinthians 11:7], we are created in God’s image. This is why we must believe in ourselves—God has designed us himself.

For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. 1 Corinthians 11:7

Prayer Concerning Low Self-Esteem

We should always remind ourselves that God loved us so much that He gave His son for us [John 3:16]. We should live our lives with great confidence as our sins have been washed, and the blood of our Savior Jesus Christ cleanses us.

If you notice your spouse has low self-esteem, talk to your partner and encourage him daily. Encourage him to read the Scriptures with you and meditate together as you pray to God.

“Father, my husband has low confidence in himself. But I believe he can do great things as You have given him his life for a purpose. I know he is able to do much more than what he can do now as long as he believes in himself. Remind my husband that he is a child loved by You, and You have created him in Your image. Help him see that You have designed him with unique qualities that only he has. I pray that the traits You have blessed him with will be appreciated; he will glorify Your name for blessing him with such qualities that others do not have. Father, may he use those qualities to glorify Your name above all things.

Father, help my husband see who You truly are, so he’ll know who he really is and what You have planned for him. This I pray, In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Prayer for Confidence

We should all remember that our confidence comes from God. How we see ourselves and how we present ourselves is all because we believe in who we are. Remember, God has been with us from the beginning. [Hebrews 10:35] mentions that we should never throw our confidence away, for we shall be rewarded. However, with our confidence, we must remember always to honor God.

“Father, I rebuke any spirit of fear, insecurity, shame, and guilt in my husband’s self-image. I pray that You’ll teach him how to be confident in himself while remembering to honor Your name. May my husband not lose confidence in who he is and remember those promises You have installed in him for as long as he puts in his faith and does Your will, Father. I pray that my husband will not be too confident in himself and forget who You intend him to be. I pray that he will always seek You first, Father, before believing too much in his self-capability. Remind him, Father, that the qualities he has come from You; without You, he is nothing. May my husband continue to be a person who serves You above all things. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Prayer for Self-Worth

As children of God, we should never belittle ourselves. We should hold the highest honor and faith in who we are. Not only did Jesus give his life for us, but God has given us our lives for a purpose. Always remind your husband that his life is full of meaning. He just needs to believe in himself and trust our Father that his plans for our husband are to prosper him. He should not turn to worldly desires to bring himself up, nor should he let others define who he is as a person. Remember [1 Peter 2:9]. We are God’s very own possession. We are the chosen people God has entrusted to do His will.

“Heavenly Father, my husband’s identity is solely in You. Because of You, he is a wonderful man, he fears no man but You alone, and others praise him. For You have guided him to be a great man.

Father, You see my husband for who he is despite all the words others speak of him. Despite all the labels and judgmental eyes, my husband only turns his head and blocks his ears, for he knows his self-worth. He does not speak ill, nor does he try to gain the approval of others. He does not have any desire to be among those who care only about their outer appearance. What my husband desires most is how he can be a better son to You.

Father, thank you for loving my husband for who he is. You do not judge his worth based on his outer appearance. You know him fully and are aware of what his heart is. And for that, we glorify Your name, for You have continued to bless him for being a good child of Yours.

Father, I pray that my husband continues to know who he is and remember that he always has You; he does not need worldly praise or possession to be defined as who he is. As long as he walks that path You have intended him to walk, continue to pour out Your blessings as You have promised. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Prayer for Confidence in God

As we pray for our husband, we should always include in our prayer that our husband has faith in God. We should remind him to put his faith in God more and not in his own ability [Proverbs 3:5]. He is not alone, and God is always with him, according to [Isaiah 41:10].

“Father, I pray that my husband has full trust in You. May his faith in You grow with each passing day. Remind him to always put his trust in You. For You alone is anything possible. I hope that he sees each challenge he faces now as Your way of reminding him to put his trust in You. So, I pray that his confidence in himself will not break, but, instead, he’ll turn to You for his answer and help. Father, continue to guide my husband in his daily life. May Your light always shine upon him. I believe You will bless him more and more as long as he puts his faith in You. May he have confidence in Your plans and follow You wherever You may lead him. Thank you for Your undying love for him. Amen.”
