Prayer for My Godly Husband

As daughters of God, He wants to give us godly husbands who will love us as Jesus Christ loved the church (Eph. 5:25). However, we must wait and listen carefully to the Lord. Not every man who will court you and confess their love for you is sent by God. The Lord does not want you to end up in a bad marriage just because you married the wrong man. Here is a prayer for your godly husband:

Father, I believe that You are preparing the very best partner for me. Teach me how to be a godly wife so that I may be a blessing to my husband. Grant both of us hearts that listen and obey your will so that we may fulfill Your purpose for us. Wherever he is right now, keep him safe. Amen. 

What should I pray for my future husband?

Although you haven’t met your future husband yet, you can still pray for him. Prayer knows no distance and can easily reach the people for whom you are praying (Ps. 145:18 – The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.). Prayer for protection

You must declare protection for the people you care for, including your future husband. The Lord will keep him safe against the enemy’s evil schemes if you pray for him (Ps. 121:7-8). Patience is essential as we wait for God to fulfill His purpose. Many people become impatient and settle on their plans but reject their decisions later. Prayer for godliness

To lead his family to victory, your future husband must have godliness. Thus, he may live according to the will of the Lord. He must adhere to God’s teachings so that his children may learn from him (Prov. 4:1-4). You can ask for God’s help to create a godly character for your husband. Heavenly Father, thank You for the plans You have for my life. Please create a godly character for my future husband. May he love and follow You more than anyone else. Before God can entrust us with greater things, we must prove that we can be faithful even to small things (Luke 16:10). The favor of God can help your future husband experience blessings and victory in every area of his life. Without God’s favor, we must use our best efforts to fulfill God’s purpose. Prayer against temptation

During our season of waiting, the enemy will try to tempt us to hinder God’s plan. He may tempt your future husband to be unfaithful to the Lord or to stop believing in His plans. You can help your future partner by interceding for him. As you make your request to God, believe in Him with all your heart (Matt. 21:22). Here is a prayer against temptation:

Father, protect my future husband against temptation. Teach him to submit to You and resist the enemy so that he may flee (Jm. 4:7). Purify his mind and heart, thinking only of the things pleasing to You. If he struggles with secret sins, help him overcome them, Father. I declare freedom in his life, in Jesus’ Name! Amen.
