Prayers for My Husband Going to Work

God has blessed you with a good husband. He has given you a husband who works diligently. God has bestowed upon you a spouse that does his job well. In this blog post we will be looking at Prayers for My Husband Going to Work

Your husband is admirable in his work. Though he is strong in performing his job, he can become weary. He can get stressed. But take heart, as God has enabled you to help your husband free himself of stress. You can do this through earnest prayers.

What do you say to a stressed husband?

When your husband is stressed, you can say words that will comfort him and make him think and feel better. Here are 10 statements you can make for him to overcome stress:

1. “Take a rest. You deserve it.”

Stress drains energy. Stress can sap the strength of your husband. When your husband is stressed, he may be unable to do certain things well.

Tell your husband that Jesus said to come to him for rest [ Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV) ]. Tell your husband to take a break, relax and rest. Even God rested when he created the world and man. God commanded that people should rest. He knows that men can grow weary and need to rest. So, tell your husband to take a good rest and recover his strength.

2. “Let’s stretch and get moving.”

Your husband may be immobilized and not want to exercise. He may not be motivated to work out. He might lose interest in staying fit.

Let your husband know that exercising is worth the time to ease his stress. Encourage your husband to shake off his stress through working out. Make your husband understand that exercising is one of the key factors in getting free of stress. Initiate the idea of exercise. Get the hands of your spouse to work out. Do an exercise that he enjoys and loves doing.

3. “Let’s listen to some music.”

Your husband may be uninspired to do simple things. He may tend to live as if he is not breathing and may see the color of the world as gray. Your spouse may not be enthusiastic and energized.

One of the best ways to bring color back into his life is by playing music. Written in the word of God is that God will give you a song [ He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him. – Psalm 40:3 (NIV) ]. There is a song that will specifically speak to your husband. Tell your husband to listen to music or, better yet, play music for him. Good music will touch his heart and revive his spirit. King Saul was refreshed by the sound of the harp that David played. If you know how to play an instrument, doing so will be therapeutic and soothing for your husband. If not, just playing music will be of help. Singing together will help him get over stress as soon as possible.

He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.

4. “Let’s do something you love doing.”

Stress takes away your husband’s interest to pursue the things that make him happy. Stress steals the desire and appetite of your husband to enjoy what makes him feel good and relaxed.

Solomon says that there is a proper time to do things [ There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: – Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV) ]. Invite your husband to do what he loves doing. Encourage your husband to enjoy and pursue his hobbies. Move your husband to do them for his benefit and help him focus his attention on the good things he has. Do something with him that will make him happy and divert his attention away from stress.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

5. “Don’t worry. God will do as he promised.”

With stress, your husband can start to worry. His thoughts and feelings may lead him to anxiety, and he may become troubled with unrestful thoughts.

Speak words of affirmation to your spouse. Speak positive, uplifting words. Remind him of the promises of God. Remind him of the everlasting peace that God gives [ You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. – Isaiah 26:3 (NIV) ]. Refresh his heart and spirit with the way God has been faithfully blessing him in the past and the present. Recall the grace and goodness of God and his work in your husband’s life. Tell him that God will take away his worries and replace them with belief and faith.

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

6. “You can do it because God supports you.”

When stressed, your husband may get discouraged. He may think and feel low about himself and his abilities. He may think that some things are impossible to do. He may even think about quitting his job.

Paul said that God will help you finish your work [ being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. – Philippians 1:6 (NIV) ]. Talk to your husband and listen to him. Listen to what he is saying and what he keeps in his heart. Encourage him by telling him what God has in store for him and about God’s plans for his life. Remind him that God has chosen him to do great works and that he is a child of God who is meant to do amazing things.

7. “Let us ask for wisdom.”

A man may not always seek help when burdened by something. Men do not normally ask for help when they are stressed. They try to do and solve things on their own whenever possible.

Your husband may be shy about asking for help. When help is needed, let your husband know you are there to call for help. Express that help is available and it will not make him small or cause humiliation. Instead, asking someone who is wise, like someone for whom you have high regard, a counselor, or a therapist will help him overcome his struggles. Those people are enlightened and can be powerfully used by God to help your husband.

8. “Let us pray and ask God for relief.”

When you have run out of people to turn to and when your husband’s stress is so heavy that you do not know what to say to God, tell your husband to pray with you. Jesus said that when at least two people pray together, he is there [ For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” – Matthew 18:20 (NIV) ]. He will be with you.

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.

Prayers for My Husband Going to Work

Pray with all your heart to God. Pray because he will listen. Bring the matter to God because he will answer and give you victory. Pray with faith that everything will be alright in the time appointed by God. In his time, your husband will be stronger, more courageous and full of faith.

9. “Let us soak in God’s word.”

There is a possibility that your husband may forget the word of God during his time of stress. Stress can occupy a major part of the mind of your spouse, thus leaving very little space for positive thoughts.

Joshua was commanded by God to meditate in order to grant his success [ Joshua 1:8 (NIV) ]. Invite your husband for a Bible reading together. Read and speak inspiring Bible verses to your husband. Go through the encouraging messages found in the word of God. Let your husband be empowered, refreshed, and revived by what you read. Be consistent in doing this every day and you will see your husband healed in time.

10. “God is with you.”

With all that your husband is going through, he may forget that God is with him. There will be moments that he may not remember the presence, guidance, and comfort that God can give him.

Tell your husband to cast aside his fear because God will give him the strength to survive [ Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) ]. Remind your husband that God is always with him and still loves him in spite of what he is going through. In the powerlessness of your husband, remind him that God is still with him, standing beside him and helping him until he becomes victorious over stress.
