Prayers for my Husband’s Peace

God offers a kind of peace this world can never provide. The Scriptures described it as “peace that surpasses human understanding” (Phil. 4:6-7). We can experience calmness in our hearts, even in despair. It is not because of the absence of trials but due to our assurance in Jesus Christ. Here is a prayer of peace for your husband:

Dear Lord, You are the Prince of peace (Is. 9:6). We can find refuge and strength in You, despite what is happening in the world. Today, I uplift my husband to you. Put calmness in his heart, even while he is suffering. Assure Him of Your everlasting love and protection. For this, I pray. Amen.

How to Have Peace in my Marriage?

Can marriage have peace, even in the midst of trials and hardships? Definitely! With God’s grace, He can keep your heart calm. If problems arise in your marriage, don’t be afraid, as God will defend you. Below are some things you can do to maintain peace in your marriage:

Let Jesus be the center of your marriage

Some marriages depend on money, power, or physical attraction. However, these things are temporary. Once they disappear, those marriages will also collapse. Jesus Christ is a Firm Foundation. No one can destroy your marriage if Jesus sits at the center of it.

The Lord will protect you and your husband at all times. Although suffering is imminent, peace will stay in your hearts. If your husband is an unbeliever, now is the time to introduce him to the Lord and Savior—Jesus Christ.

Pray together

Praying together will put your hearts at absolute peace. Not only will God answer your prayers, but He will also give you rest in His presence. Praying together will strengthen your relationship, knowing that God is in your midst. Before taking the advice of the people you trust, go to God and allow Him to speak to you.

Read the Bible

Reading the Bible will provide you with peace, despite the rough patches in your marriage. You will have the assurance that God will restore what has been lost. The Scriptures will also reveal how you should look at your husband. There are even reminders on how you should treat him so there will be persistent peace inside your home.

Communicate properly

According to Proverbs 15:1 (A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.), a gentle answer turns away wrath. If your husband is stressed or angry, it is better to speak to him gently. As much as possible, wait until his temper subsides before you correct him. When discussing an issue, allow your husband to talk and actively listen to his side of things. Avoid nagging since it only worsens the situation (Prov. 27:15-16).

Conclusion

We cannot put our trust in temporary things. Even though we have money, riches, or fame, they cannot give us the peace that only God can provide. Anyone who struggles with their marriage must come to Jesus Christ. Even during the most painful times in life, Jesus can give us rest and quietness in His presence.
