How Should I Pray For My Husband On New Years

As one year ends and a new one begins, as a wife, you probably have a lot of hope and prayers for your husband. Through the years, you have seen your husband go through so many challenges in his life. There have been moments of joy and sadness, yet both of you continued to support and hold on to each other. You know the challenges that you both are facing are God’s way of strengthening not only your relationship with each other but also your faith in Him.

Pray For The Year Ahead

You should always be prepared for what’s to come. You may not know what will happen to your husband, but God knows everything. God has recorded in His book of you and your husband’s life, whether it be in the past, present, or future. God has full control over everything. Entrust your husband’s future to God, for He will not forsake your husband but instead ensure that he has a bright future in his life.

As Deuteronomy 31:6 teaches us,  God knows our limit and will ensure that the years ahead are in our reach. In Jeremiah 29:11, we see that God’s plans are not to harm us but to prosper us. For the year ahead, we must let go and let God take full control over our lives. He is the only One who knows all things and knows what is best for your husband.

Through the years, your husband will experience ups and downs, sadness and joy in his life. Even though some of the events that happened in his life are negative, you should always encourage your husband to be grateful for everything. Remind him that he is blessed with a life spent with you and your family, along with a career, a healthy body, and so on.

Colossians 3:17), God wants us to do all things in His name, for what we have achieved is all thanks to God.

Pray For Happiness

Asking God to ensure that your husband will continue to live a happy life is important, for a happy husband means that you and your children will also be living a peaceful and happy life. Pray for him to be stress-free and able to remain calm when facing difficulties. Remind your husband that tomorrow is another day; he may be facing bad times now, but the future is looking bright. All he needs to do is be content with his life. Happiness is only reachable if we are content with what we have in this world. Remind him, O Lord, that nothing he possesses in this world will bring him satisfaction and that his life here on earth is only temporary. However, he will experience true happiness and satisfaction by seeking Your kingdom first. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.”

Pray For Forgiveness And Letting Go Of The Past

Things that happened in the past should stay in the past. If your husband made a mistake and has hurt someone, he should ask for forgiveness and learn to forgive others. The past is something that should be forgotten. Based on Isaiah 43:18 -19, we should never dwell on our past but instead move forward and have a new beginning. So confess your sin and seek forgiveness [If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9]. In doing so, you must forgive those who have hurt you so God can forgive your sins [But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:15].

“Father, may my husband’s heart learn to seek forgiveness and in turn forgive those who have hurt him. May he see that there is no point in seeking revenge for things that have happened in the past, which are nothing but memories, and instead he should learn to move forward and look forward to a brighter future. Amen.”

Pray To Entrust Your Plans To God

Always remember, God knows everything. Entrust Your husband to him and remind your husband to put his faith in God, for God loves him and will not forsake him. (There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand. Proverbs 19:21) is a reminder for us to always submit our plans to God, for He is the creator of Heaven and Earth, the One who has great power over us. He knows us even before we were born and knows our past, present, and future. Also, in Philippians 4:6-7, God promised us that as long as we trust Him during difficult times, He will give us peace beyond our understanding.
