As you are here looking for the right way to pray for the right husband, remember that God already knows what’s in your heart, and rest assured that your future is safe and secure in His hands. So, how do you pray to God for the right husband? Here is one prayer pn How to Pray for the Right Husband:

Heavenly Father, the Maker of my heart, thank You for already knowing my thoughts and plans of looking for the right husband. As I lay all these plans to You, I don’t have to worry or be afraid of anything going wrong. As my heart opens up to a man after Your heart, our marriage is already in Your hands. Thank You, God, for giving me a wonderful husband at just the right time, and we will serve You together in Christ Jesus. May You be glorified in my marriage, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Looking at God’s ways and principles regarding finding the right partner through the Bible, we can see that He rarely controls, dictates, or explicitly matches people together. Abraham was already married to Sarah when he first heard the voice of God. Isaac chose Rebekah of his own will. God did not even control Samson, who had a weakness for women, which we know failed him when he chose Delilah. Even Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, was in a relationship with Joseph when the angel Gabriel appeared. Peter was already married when he followed Jesus, and Jesus chose to marry the Church as His beloved bride. The only time God chose a bride to marry was in the story of Hosea. God commanded him to marry an unfaithful woman to demonstrate His unconditional love for unfaithful Israel.

The Word of God simply tells us that when it comes to love, God wants us to express ourselves freely and choose whoever we want to love. We are free to choose, but we must be responsible for our choices, as every choice has its consequences. He wants us to love and choose freely whom we want to love. After all, God loves every soul on this earth. Does He hate a single person on earth? The Bible says, For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, and He even desires all men to be saved (see John 3:16 and 1 Timothy 2:4-6). Whatever man you choose to be your husband, God will make it the right man for you, given that you know the Biblical standards for choosing the company you want. For instance, 1 Corinthians 15:33 says that bad company corrupts good character. You surely don’t want to choose to be with someone you think of as bad company. 2 Corinthians 6:14 also says not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. Samson and Deliah were good examples of this. It can be extremely challenging as a Christian to marry someone who doesn’t respect and honor God. However, there are cases where couples are converted to Christianity along the process of their faith; remember, nothing is too hard for the Lord.

Amen.

How do I know if a man is God’s will for me?

The main hint that a man is God’s will for you is if that man loves to be in the presence of God. If a man doesn’t want to be in God’s presence, doesn’t want to be involved with the Word of God or fellowships in the Kingdom, why would He approve of such a man to marry His daughter? You are God’s precious daughter, and to keep you safe and protected, you must choose a man who also knows God in Christ Jesus and loves the Lord and His people.

Amen.

Otherwise, if you truly love someone who is not a believer, but is a kind and good person, just prepare for challenges ahead in your marriage, especially in your faith walk with God. God respects the free will and choices of men. He doesn’t force us to love Him, but patiently waits for us to be awakened to His love and respond to His call when we are ready. The choice of marrying a man is yours because God doesn’t control people’s hearts. However, He has given us the Word of God to show us His standards for our living purposefully here on earth, and it will certainly help to marry someone who also knows God’s ways and principles.

Moreover, you may also want to check on your prospective husband’s major values in life. For instance, let’s say you value family and quality time, while the man you like is not a family person or a quality time person, but instead values solitude, individuality, passion, etc. It can be challenging to be equally yoked with someone whose major values are opposite or different from yours, as the only way to come to an agreement is when one makes a sacrifice for the other or if you both work separately on the things you value. You’ll end up working individually, rather than as a team, unless there is a give and take form of sacrificial love in the marriage. The success of the marriage depends on how you both work on things together.

On the other hand, when marrying a person who holds the same values as you, such as one who loves to spend time with families, be in fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ, loves to listen to God’s Word and worship Him, and loves to serve in the Kingdom, you won’t have to compromise what you value, and that really helps in a marriage. After all, marriage is a battleground for spiritual warfare too. When a husband and wife unite, Satan works his best to steal, kill and destroy the marriage and family, for that is his very purpose as a thief (see John 10:10). You don’t want the enemy to have so many openings for causing confusion, arguments, or divisions in your marriage because of major differences in your values or belief systems. While there are differences in a marriage that you can work on and celebrate together, be careful around major differences that might impact your marriage.

As you pray to God for the right husband, know that He will give you His peace when that man comes. God won’t lead you to a man who will cause confusion to your identity or one who will take you away from His presence. Be mindful of God’s Word, be discerning, and trust that the Heavenly Father is always there to protect His precious daughter. No matter the outcome in life, God is always greater than any earthly happenings. The goal of marriage is not perfection, but for Christ to be at the center of it all.
