Prayer for a Wandering Husband – [How To]

There comes a time in the life of every man where he may drift apart from his faith. A husband may be pulled by the enemy to go astray and leave the path God has laid for him to take. Having a husband who has wandered from the faith is a challenging situation. A wife may get burdened or become worried in such a circumstance. Dear Heavenly Father, 

You are ultimately powerful. I am grateful for the happy moments my husband and I have had. Lord, you know his situation. You know the difficult time that he is navigating. Please enlighten him and make him come to his senses. Please let him remember that he is your child and needs to be a good husband. Amen.

Dear God,

You are good and compassionate, and You know what my husband is going through, so I come to you for help. Please deliver him from the hold of the enemy. Let him remember the blessed days of long ago when he surrendered his life to you when he was close to you. Let him remember your faithfulness and goodness in his life and in our marriage. Make him remember your grace and mercy, just as you showed the apostle Paul when he persecuted your church. Please turn my husband’s life around to that time when he was near you and resting in your arms. Make your spirit speak to my husband, just as your spirit has moved in the hearts of so many men and women in the Bible. Let him think of your love, and remember that you still love him, despite his mistakes and sins. Make him aware that you continue to love him and are willing to forgive and welcome him back like you did for the prodigal son when he strayed and humbly returned to you. Likewise, let my husband come back to his senses and humbly come back to you. Move him to remember your plans for him; remind him that you have great plans for him, even though he is in an unfortunate state right now. 

Give him the mind to realize and see who he really is—a child of yours. Make him remember that he is loved and cared for. Shower him with the knowledge that he is blessed and able to bless others, as he has done so many times before. Remind him that he is gifted and favored to be able to serve and let his light shine. Let him recall his strength, power, and abilities with you so that he is able to continue doing great things for your kingdom.

Bestow upon him, with the memory of his fruit and efforts in the past, the good things that he was able to do with you and for you. Let him live with love once again. Purify him just as before. Make him turn back from his waywardness and become fully restored and joyful once again. Please remove all the things that are troubling him and darkening his soul. Make him escape the grasp of the evil one. Let him have a distaste for evil. Snatch him from darkness and evil deeds. Revive your spirit in him. Cause him to thirst to do what is right. Let him not worry about things. 

Make him stand and rise again. Make him have the urge to pray to you. Make him want to spend time with you and meditate on your good deeds. Bring forth a breakthrough in his spiritual life. Clear him of his guilt, just as you removed the guilt of Peter when he disowned you three times on the eve of your crucifixion. Please give peace to my husband, like Paul said, give him a peace that transcends understanding. Please grant him peaceful and restful thoughts, just as you had when you were crucified. Let him be patient with himself as he returns to you and changes his ways. Make him remember that beautiful things come with patience. Bestow on him godly sorrow, and he will become eager to repent and return to you. 

Make him be kind to himself and others. Let him see the goodness in himself and the goodness of others. Give him the strong will to resist the devil, be self-controlled, and be disciplined. Create in him a longing to bring himself back to you again. 

Let him seek you with all his heart once again. Oh Lord, please give him a new heart and a new spirit, just as you did for the Israelites. Please renew his mind. Lead him to follow your guidance and make him overcome his situation. Let him be victorious and become the man that you have designed him to be. And when he does change, stir his heart to rejoice anew in thanksgiving and worship. I hold on to your promises that you will fight and win this battle. Thank you for not leaving my husband.
